The rail mount plate and the deck / side mount both simply clamp down on each side of the bar they are surrounding to create a clamping system on the rail

Used in applications to allow the RHPMDR manual downrigger to be mounted onto a boat rail or any other accessory that plugs into the deck / side mount (RHP020)
